FAQ

What is your shipping policy?

Shipping is coordinated on a piece by piece basis with the buyer to ensure a safe and secure delivery of your new heirloom. We utilize all major shipping companies and freight carriers to provide the best delivery experience possible. Domestic deliveries within the Southwestern United States can be arranged for in house delivery and is coordinated with those clients on a case by case basis.

International shipping is available, just drop us a line for details.

What wood species do you use?

We utilize a variety of wood species in our pieces. These range from domestic hard and soft woods of North America, to exotics of South America, Africa and Australia.

What is your favorite wood species to work with?

Over the years, we have gravitated towards using Black Walnut, Cherry and White Oak as our main go to woods. There is just something about these species that we just can’t say no to.

Can I request a specific species of wood for my commission?

Absolutely. We work closely with several saw mills and importers across the United States to secure the best quality wood for all of our pieces and your requests.

Will you design my idea?

We are more than happy to assist you in bringing your ideas to life. We can provide full designs or assist you in personalizing a design you may already have.

Will you refinish my “x” “y” or “z”?

Drop us a line and let us know what you’re looking for. We’re more than happy to review if this is a project we can assist you with.

Are all of your pieces displayed in your portfolio?

Unfortunately no. In the early days of Watkins Woodwork, our photo skills were limited and digital storage was still expensive and tough to come by. As a result, when we did take photos many were on film, and have been lost to the storage closets, basements and various other locations we’ve squirreled away our old treasures. We may get around to digitizing those old photos one day, but for now, only our more recent pieces have made it online.

Do you offer any warranty?

As wood is a natural material, we work diligently to ensure our pieces are constructed to last a lifetime. Unfortunately as we’re unable to care for each piece once it leaves our studio, we warranty each piece separately through an agreement with each client directly. Boxes, bowls and other items purchased through our store hold a 90 day warranty from the date of purchase, unless otherwise noted on the sales page.
